A Lifestyle That Comes with a Plan for Life.

Residential Living
What is residential living? It’s nearly identical to what other senior communities refer to as independent living. Like independent living, our residential living offers many options with Hillcrest’s charming, private cottages being one of the most popular.
Cottages are the best of both worlds: All of the privacy, independence and space of a single-family home alongside the conveniences of community living.
Unlike many high-density 62+ communities, Hillcrest is not gated or cut off from the world. It is woven into the heart of La Verne, harkening back to simpler times when neighborhoods felt open and life unfolded at an easy pace. Families ride bikes along Hillcrest’s sidewalks, parents push strollers, neighbors wave from their porches and children fill the tree-lined streets with conversation. Here, life feels unhurried, connected and genuinely shared.
Our campus covers over 50 acres and it is easily accessible by car, golf cart or the community and shuttle.
Plus, when you move in, you can make your cottage or apartment home your own by choosing internal finishes and the paint colors that reflect yourself at no additional charge. Specialty customizations are available and can be quoted.

What is Residential Living with Services?
While most communities make you choose between either independent living or assisted living, Hillcrest is different. We’re one of the few communities in California that offer a third option called residential living with services. It feels like residential living or independent living but adds a little extra support. However, it is not as much support one would receive in assisted living.

What is Assisted Living at Hillcrest Like?
At Hillcrest, assisted living doesn’t feel like the typical assisted living that most people imagine. And assisted living apartment homes come with just the right amount of discreet services perfect for helping you live independently while getting the support you need. Full services include delicious dining, housekeeping, all utilities, cable and home maintenance. Residents also enjoy a thoughtfully planned life enrichment calendar designed specifically for assisted living needs—offering daily opportunities to stay active, social and engaged. Residents enjoy a country kitchen in close proximity to the Aquatic and Fitness Center, the Meeting House, the Chapel and the Village Center.

Does Hillcrest offer Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Services?
Whether you need short-term rehabilitation to get back on your feet or skilled nursing support, Hillcrest currently offers around-the-clock care in a comfortable setting with private and semi-private rooms. Our skilled nursing provides services to Hillcrest residents and residents around Los Angeles. We are licensed by the state of California and certified by Medicare and Medi-Cal.
