The Citrus Center

The Citrus Center (formerly Resident Services Center) is the heart of Hillcrest creativity. Citrus Center provides a general activity room equipped with kitchen facilities, woodshop, greenhouse, Hillcrest Farms and the Mary Dadisman Sewing Center.

The Citrus Center is the home for other resident interests such as an art studio. Hillcrest has three vegetable gardens reserved exclusively for residents, with one located adjacent to the Citrus Center. It’s a great way for residential living residents to stay active and engaged. One year, we had so many tomatoes we hosted a “Tomatopalooza” event and invited guests to indulge in tomato dishes of all kinds.

Support Local Artists at The Gallery at Hillcrest.

The Gallery at Hillcrest features rotating exhibits by artists from across Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley, celebrating the cultural diversity that shapes our community. As part of Hillcrest’s nonprofit mission, The Gallery supports local creators and invites everyone to engage with art that’s made close to home. Each exhibit brings opportunities to connect—through opening receptions, conversations and shared learning. With work from California painters, photographers and sculptors, The Gallery has become a meaningful part of life at Hillcrest and a valued part of the La Verne arts scene.

The Gallery at Hillcrest is open most days during business hours. Just check in with the front desk and take a look around. No appointment is necessary. To RSVP for special events held at the gallery, check out our Events page or give us a call at (657) 279-4495.
