A Fund That Ensures
Residents Are Never Alone
FAITH, COMPASSION AND LIFELONG CARE
should provide peace of mind. As part of the Hillcrest
Philanthropy department’s work, it offers a Benevolent
Fund to support residents who have outlived their
resources. Drawing upon the founders’ roots in the
Church of the Brethren, the fund continues the mission
of treating every resident with compassion and respect.
The Benevolent Fund is a reminder that Hillcrest is
a place built on faith, sustained by generosity and
committed to caring for its residents through every stage
of life.
Through the support of donors, residents and community
members, the fund provides stability, dignity and peace
of mind. Contributions help ensure that no resident faces
uncertainty alone and that care continues uninterrupted,
regardless of financial circumstance.
“At Hillcrest, community means caring for one another
through every season of life,” said Shirley Turner,
Director of Sales and Marketing, Hillcrest. “Our
community is in a ‘mini’ blue zone with many residents
living into their 90s and beyond, as centenarians. Their
longevity is inspiring and keeps our focus on health and
wellness and strong social programs, all of which help
older adults live long lives with respect and dignity.”
In 2025, Hillcrest provided over $600,000 in charity
care to help 44 residents live without fear of financial
disaster. This is a reflection of the nonprofit senior
community’s longstanding commitment to stewardship
and compassion.
