| Residents who require around-the-clock nursing care find a warm setting at Hillcrest. The professional staff who serve the residents demonstrate on a daily basis their commitment to compassionate care, open communication and respect for residents’ personal preferences. They are trained to offer services such as help with bathing, dressing, medications and incontinence management as well as a higher level of skilled nursing care, if needed.
Woods Health Services serves Hillcrest residents as well as residents from neighboring towns and communities. Licensed by the State of California and certified by Medicare and Medi-Cal, Woods is licensed for 79 skilled nursing beds in four private and 37 semi-private rooms. Woods Health Services provides restorative, respite and chronic care services.
Individual care plans are developed for each resident with the physician, resident, and family members involved from admission to discharge. Regular meetings are scheduled with those involved in a resident's care to assure communication, continuity of care and that the care plan is changed as appropriate.
In addition to 24-hour-a-day care from Registered and Licensed Vocational Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, Woods has a rehabilitation program served by professionals in speech, occupational and physical therapy. Services also include a caring Social Service Designee who assists in the adjustment to life in a health care environment.
Each day, our activity associates provide a variety of programs for individuals and groups. Crafts, games, socials and special events take place in the lively activity room, and bus trips are available for those who can participate. The Hillcrest Chaplain visits Woods regularly and offers private consultations, inter-denominational religious services, Bible classes and different recovery groups.
Our respite care program allows us to take care of a resident on a short-term basis while regular caregivers are vacationing or just resting at home. Hillcrest's Administrative Coordinator is available to guide discharge planners, residents and family members through the residency process and to provide a helpful orientation.
